The G-Dragon x Nike Kwondo 1 is a collaboration between the South Korean hip-hop artist and Nike that introduced a new silhouette to the brand’s footwear collection in December 2021. The sneaker is named after the Korean martial art of taekwondo, and its design is inspired by several footwear styles – most notably brogue-style dress shoes, Stefan Janoski’s Nike SB Janoski line, and 90s-era football cleats. This is evident from the perforations found along with each panel, the overall shape of the shoe, and the overlapping tongues, respectively. The white monochromatic colourway features tonal Swoosh branding on either side and dual ‘Nike’ and ‘Peaceminusone’ logos on the left and right tongues, respectively. An embroidered daisy detail on the heel is a nod to G-Dragon’s logo.
Kickswho’s knockoff Kwondo sneakers feature a triple white leather upper with brogue trim reminiscent of classic golf and dress shoes. A triple white sole and PEACEMINUSONE branding on the lace shroud competes the design. Wholesale Kwondo buyers are also welcomed!
